About Fore Words

Fore Words was created together with Textanz as Add-In (plug-in) version of this program for Microsoft Word. The main goal of Fore Words was the same : calculation of frequencies for individual words, phrases and wordforms in given text (active Word document).

Who needs Fore Words

Due to the specifics of Add-In implementation Fore Words is not being used as widely as Textanz. However, Add-In can become cheaper and simpler alternative for ones who prefer to do all the work in MS Word and don't need rich functionality of Textanz.

How it works

After installation, Fore Words appears as a standard item in main menu of Microsoft Word. Currently Fore Words contains two programs.

Reptyler scans the document opened in Microsoft Word and provides user with the list of frequently used phrases, words and wordforms. This information enables you to avoid overusing of certain expressions and cliches in text. Repetyler evaluates phrases irrespective of punctuation marks or spacing : identical word successions are evaluated like identical phrases, regardless of linefeed characters or various comma locations. Program gives you results in the form of sorted list. You can perform your own custom sorting by any column (content, length, frequency).

K-Diff Search performs the search of the specified pattern in the text with not more then K differences. Under single difference the substitution, insertion, or removal of one symbol is implied. As it is not defined precisely to which symbols of the word the above mentioned operations will be applied, the purpose of the search with K differences cannot be solved with built-in search capabilities of Microsoft Word. This search mode will be useful, for example, when the right spelling of the required word is not known or when one looks for a word that contains one or more mistakes/misspellings.
